Ultra Peel® Treatment Protocol

Treatment Protocol

Specially formulated to treat maturing skin, Ultra Peel® is also appropriate for many other skin types, conditions, and sensitivities. It helps improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles while promoting an even skin tone and clear complexion.

Ultra Peel® (1.96 fl oz/58mL bottle)

Key Ingredients

  • Alpha-Lipoic Acid (Thioctic Acid) is a natural compound with antioxidant and anti- inflammatory properties that interferes with the internal pathways of hyperpigmentation.
  • Emblica is a botanical also known as Indian gooseberry or the Malacca tree. It contains a high concentration of tannins, which have been shown to reduce discoloration and the visible signs of aging.
  • Lactic Acid an alpha hydroxy acid (AHA) naturally found in milk and sugars. It is part of the skin’s natural moisturizing factor (NMF) and moisturizes the skin.
  • Silymarin is the extract from Milk Thistle. It is a powerful antioxidant that provides anti-inflammatory benefits and has a protective effect against UVA-induced oxidative stress. It suppresses UVB-induced skin edema and the formation of sunburn cells.
  • Trichloroacetic Acid (TCA) a superficial and medium-depth peeling agent that helps minimize the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and acne scarring

Cleanse

1. Facial Wash Oily/Problem – Cleanse the area of treatment thoroughly. Rinse and pat dry.

Prep

2. Smoothing Toner – Apply with a cotton pad to prep the skin. Allow the skin to dry. This product may sting or tingle on some individuals. Assess sensitivity by asking the patient, “On a scale of one to ten, ten being extremely active, how do you rate this sensation (or feeling)?”

Treat

3. Ultra Peel®

  • Before using, gently agitate the product. Apply the first layer with a cotton pad.
  • Use the scale of 1 to 10 to gauge sensitivity. Fan the skin to keep the patient cool between layers. If the patient responds 6 or higher, do not proceed with another layer. If the patient’s response is between 1 and 5, proceed with another layer.
  • Wait until the patient’s sensitivity begins to subside before applying the next layer. The patient will begin to rate lower on the scale of 1 to 10 approximately one to five minutes after each layer is applied.
  • The total number of layers is determined by the needs, goals, and individual sensitivity of the patient.
  • The maximum number of layers is four.

Correct

4. After the peel solution has been absorbed into the skin, customize the protocol with a combination of corrective daily care products to address your patient’s particular concerns and skincare goals.

Retinoid booster (optional)

5. Advanced Treatment Booster – Dispense two pumps into gloved hands. Gently spread the product over the area of treatment, keeping application even and thin.

  • Use the scale of 1 to 10 to gauge sensitivity. Most patients will not have any sensitivity to this product.
  • The maximum number of layers is one.

Hydrate & protect

6. ReBalance and the appropriate PCA SKIN® broad spectrum SPF product – Complete the treatment with this combination to calm, hydrate and protect the skin from UVA and UVB exposure.

7. Hyaluronic Acid Lip Booster – Finish with a liberal application to improve hydration and reduce the appearance of lip lines.

Note: Apply the appropriate PCA SKIN® broad spectrum SPF product prior to applying Hyaluronic Acid Lip Booster to protect the lips from UVA and UVB exposure.
