Hypopigmentation Treatments

How to Treat

In general, hypopigmentation is incredibly difficult to treat, often with little to no success. There have been some documented cases of some treatment success using psoralens, tar, and lasers; however, more data and additional treatment options are needed to address this difficult-to-treat condition.

It is important that areas of hypopigmentation are well protected from the sun; lack of melanin makes the skin far more vulnerable to sun damage.
